Gulkand Milkshake | Rose Petal Shake

Gulkand milkshake is one of my favorite delicacy for summers. It’s March here and summers are approaching – therefore I have decided to talk about Gulkand milkshake today. It soothes our body and hinders the heat strokes – works as a protective agent.

Gulkand is basically the jam or preserve of rose petals. As per the Hindu medical practices, Ayurveda, it’s a cooling tonic that decreases body temperature. Gulkand acts as a blood purifier, improves our digestion, increases hunger, stabilizes the body’s acidity, improves eyesight, and enhances the skin tone.

How to make Gulkand at home?

To make Gulkand, you require wild pink roses. Then weigh it and add an equal amount of sugar to it. After that wash, the rose petals in running water and in a dry glass bottle, which has a lid, add rose petals and sugar. After that close the bottle and keep it in sin light. It takes 10 days to make Gulkand and jam can be stored for 6 months.

Keep in mind that don’t change the position of the bottle for 10 days – keep it untouched.

Benefits of Consuming Gulkand

  • It’s a tonic that relieves lethargy, muscle pain, fatigue, and itching.
  • It saves us from sun strokes and purifies the blood.
  • It helps us to improve our cognitive senses.

I have stored Gulkand from the last summers and usually drink it with a glass of milk. Just add a teaspoon of Gulkand in the lukewarm milk – stir it and the Gulkand milkshake is ready.
