Vegetarian Mushroom Chili
Chili Mushroom is another blend of Indo-Chinese cuisines, just like chili cheese or chili chicken. All you have to do is to replace chicken or cheese with mushrooms. The mushroom variety that I want to recommend here button mushrooms, which are easily available in the market. This recipe is very delicious and doesn’t require many ingredients or spices to complete.
I first tasted this in 2012 in a roadside Chinese food joint, the aroma and flavor were so good that it became my favorite Chinese food. I like to cook and Chili mushroom is always top on my list. All you have to do is to a thick batter, dip the mushrooms (cut or uncut), mix well and then fry it in a deep pan.
The rest of the procedure is extremely simple like chili chicken. Apart from mushrooms, you need capsicum (red, green, and yellow), onion (medium-sized), garlic, and sauces.

Chili Mushroom

Before frying, make sure to heat oil properly so that it can offer a uniform texture after frying.
Ingredients
- Corn Flour – 1 Cup
- All-Purpose Flour – 1/2 Cup
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Garam Masala – 1 tsp
- Oil – For Frying
- Mushroom – 150 gms
- Garlic – 4 Cloves (Finely Chopped)
- Green Chili – 4 (Chopped Lengthwise)
- Onion – 1 medium
- Red Capsicum – 1
- Green Capsicum – 1
- Yellow Capsicum – 1
- Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp
- Ketchup – 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. At first add, all-purpose flour, cornflour, red chili powder, salt, and garam masala. Mix them and add mushrooms to it. Fry them in batches.
- 2. Then in a pan add garlic, green chili, onion, red capsicum, green capsicum, and yellow capsicum. Saute it well and add soy sauce and ketchup to it. Add water and boil it.
- 3. After that add fried mushrooms and serve well.
