Chicken dim sums are delicious and can be cooked for special occasions and everyone will remember about it! They not only taste delicious but are very beautiful when thoroughly cooked.
And you have to believe me, they are equally yummy as momos, if not more! However, cooking this recipe is not an easy job and requires some effort but the end result is extremely rewarding.
Basically, you can say that – chicken dim sum recipe is a Rockstar! Tougher to get, but worthy.
I like to prepare Chinese food and with Indian blend.

I want to tell you that this best chicken dim sum recipe is very customizable. Even though I have used chicken here, you can follow the same recipe with shrimps, pork, or any other seafood.
Rest all steps would be the same as the ingredients which I have used to make the chicken here will accompaniment the shrimps too.
Although the preparation will need some rehearsal, especially rolling out the outer casing. It should be thin enough so that it cooks well during the steaming process and at the same time the thickness should be good enough so that it doesn’t fall apart once filled.

Chicken Dim Sum
Ingredients
For the casing –
- All-purpose flour (Maida) – 1 cup
- Boiling water – ⅔ cup
- Salt – as needed
For the filling –
- Minced Chicken – 250 grams
- Light soy sauce -1 tablespoon
- Carrot – 1 (finely chopped)
- Garlic – 6 cloves (minced)
- Green onion – 2 (finely chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Dipping Sauce
- Light soy sauce – 3 tablespoons
- Red chillies – 3
- Sesame oil – ½ tsp
- Chopped spring onion greens – 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- At first, make the dough by using the flour and salt in a large bowl. Now add boiling water gradually and start mixing.
- Make the dough softer and it must be consistent.
- Now cover it with a damp kitchen towel and keep it aside for 30 minutes at least.
- Then prepare the filling and add minced chicken, chopped carrots, chopped leeks, minced garlic and chopped green onion in a large bowl and mix them together. Also, Season with soy sauce, salt and black pepper to taste.
- Now to make the casing. Take out the dough on a flat surface and knead it again. Make small ball of dough of about 1 inch of diameter. Make sure the casing is thin or it will not cook evenly.
- Then stuff the chicken dim sum. Take about a tablespoon of the chicken filling and place the filling in the centre of the disc. Now shape the dim sum by squeezing the sides of dough disc.
- When all the dim sums are shaped, steam them on medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Keep the steamer covered during steaming.
- When the dim sums are steaming, make the dipping sauce by mixing the light soy sauce, spring onion greens, finely chopped red chillies and sesame oil. Whisk them thoroughly and reserve until serving.
- When the chicken dim sums are thoroughly cooked take them out and garnish with greens of spring onions. Serve the hot chicken dim sum along with soy chilli dipping sauce.
